南加华友25周年庆后续报导（六）

感谢华中校友会的友谊

    Congratulate to the resounding success of the dinner banquet to celebrate the 25th Anniversary, the significant milestone of the Southern California Huazhoung Alumni Association (SCHAA) in conjunction to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of Japan Defeat in WWII.

    Since the founding of SCHAA 25 years ago, the Association have enjoyed a distinguish track record of music and culture activities, with many Alumni and Friends making important contributions to the Southern California Burmese-Chinese Expats society. The Association was founded to foster friendship and maintain robust ties among Alumni.  Through the years, the Association has cultivated and overcame the different circumstances, helping grow closer and more cohesive together.

    As a friend of the Association, my unique experience is unforgettable, and yet I share the same memories as a Huazhoung Alumni.  Whether it’s gathering for celebrations or excursion Tour, I share a common identity that unites us all as Myanmar Chinese Expats.  

    In 1977 I came to U.S. sponsored by my elder brother-in-law and my second brother-in-law accommodated my family for three months, five of us, two adults and three children squeezing into one of his four bed rooms house in Temple City. He himself had five family members, plus one younger brother, plus two younger sisters, and plus one elderly mother, 9 plus 5, 14 people stayed together in the same house. I am forever in debt to their generosity and kindness. In 1978 I bought a fixer upper house cross the street from my second brother-in-law’s house for $47K. There were only two Chinese families as I know of, me and my second brother-in-law in Temple City at that time. 38 years have gone by like just yester day and Chinese expats pupation has ballooned to 566,000 in the greater Los Angeles area.

    Drawing parallel to my experience at the beginning at U.S. then and now, the acquaintance with SCHAA, I appreciate the friendship at the Association and the accommodation of my retirement twilight years even though my very first amateur Burmese Dance is long on enthusiasm and short on talent.

    南加州华中校友会25周年庆暨纪念第二次世界大战抗日胜利70周年晚会，成功演出是校友会的一重要里程碑。恭喜！

    华中校友会成立25年以来，在文娱活动领域方面获得显著的成就。校友及朋友们为南加华侨社会作出了重要的贡献。校友会的成立促进了校友之间的友谊，也是维持校友们之间亲密关系的强有力的纽带。多年以来校友会成长并克服种种状况。互助使校友们更亲密地凝聚在一起。

    作为华中校友会的一位友人，我的经验是独特难忘的，也与华中校友分享了同样的回忆，在聚会或旅游方面，我也有认同感。这种认同感团结了大多数缅华侨胞在一起。

    1977年，在大舅和二舅的赞助下，我来到了美国。我家共5人，2个成人和3 个孩子。全家寄住在大舅的天普市的四房一厅的屋子里。我们在那里住了3 个月，大舅本人有5位成员加上一个弟弟，2个妹妹和一年迈母亲共9 人。再加上我们5 人，共14人挤住在一起。我永远铭记及感激他们的慷慨和善心。1978年，在天普市二舅家的对街以47000美元购买了一间极需修缮的屋子。38 年过去了，恰似昨日一般。当时天普市只有我与二舅两家华人家庭。大洛杉矶地区华人现已激增到了566000人。

    借鉴以往与现在的经验，感激与洛杉矶华中校友会结缘。在退休的晚年间，我参加了校友会周年庆的缅甸舞，这是我第一次业余参与表演。虽然缺少技能，但是以高度的热情参加，我感激洛杉矶校友会。
